From WarzoneWiki
Warzone 2100 is copyleft licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL for short). This means you can give it to whoever you want, without paying us anything or asking for our permission. If you made changes to it, read what the license says about sharing your changes before distributing.
For distributors who wish to include Warzone 2100 on CD or DVD
We (morally) approve of distribution of Warzone 2100 on CD or DVD along with magazines. You do not need to contact us to seek this approval, you can distribute Warzone 2100 for free or for a fee under the terms of the GNU General Public License just like everybody else.
We would appreciate being noticed about any publications. In case you publish an article about Warzone 2100, we would further appreciate permission to publish it or excerpts thereof on our website.
Be aware that that the GPL requires you to distribute source code along with the program. We recommend putting the .tar.bz2 compressed source code of the same version of Warzone 2100 that you wish to distribute in the same directory on the CD or DVD as the executable, binary compiled version. You do not need to provide a means for the user to install the source code, nor provide any user support for it. Unfortunately, it is not sufficient to provide an URL link to the source code, or offer it on FTP (see this page for more info).
The GPL is the only license or permission that Warzone 2100 can be distributed under. We will not (and cannot) give any other permissions for distribution, nor will we offer any kind of warranty or indemnity.
